Rilmazafone for MAC
Free, open-source DMG designer for Mac developers: arrange an installer on a Finder-like canvas, then build, sign, notarize and publish it from a release plan.
Rilmazafone Overview
Rilmazafone is a Mac app for developers who ship their apps as disk images. You arrange the installer on a canvas that matches the Finder window: drag in your app, get an Applications shortcut and an arrow, add extra files, and place everything with guides. Backgrounds can be images, gradients or solid colors, with color adjustments, vignette, bloom, variable blur, styled text, SF Symbols and frosted panels behind icons. One click then builds the .dmg, with a choice of compression format and of APFS or HFS+, signed with an identity from your keychain.
Designs are saved as reusable .dmgtemplate files. A .releaseplan goes further and turns a design into a repeatable release: it archives the app, signs and notarizes the app and the disk image, verifies them, publishes a GitHub release and updates a Homebrew cask. The same plan runs from the app or from the command line. Rilmazafone is made by Mado Kagerou and is free and open source under the MIT license. Version 2.11.0 improves how the install stage registers the installed app. It needs macOS 26 or later, and the release pipeline needs Xcode. Publishing needs the GitHub CLI and a notarization profile. This post links to the GitHub edition; the Mac App Store edition contains only the designer, without the command line and release pipeline.
Key Features
Rilmazafone joins visual DMG design and the release pipeline in one app.
- Finder layout: place icons with guides for centers, thirds and neighbors.
- Layered backgrounds: images, gradients or colors with adjustments and effects.
- Variable blur: linear or radial masks, live on the canvas.
- Text and symbols: styled text and SF Symbols in the background.
- Frosted panels: per-icon panels with shadow, bevel and blend modes.
- Build options: several compression formats, HFS+ or APFS, and code signing.
- Release plans: archive, sign, notarize, verify and publish from a saved plan.
- Command line: generate DMGs and run release plans in the GitHub edition.
What’s New in Version 2.11.0
Rilmazafone 2.11.0 improves the install stage of the release plan.
- The install stage re-registers the installed app with LaunchServices.
- For apps hosting a wallpaper extension, it restarts WallpaperAgent so the installed copy launches instead of a deleted archive build.
Rilmazafone FAQ
Is Rilmazafone free?
Yes. The GitHub edition is free and open source under the MIT license.
What does Rilmazafone do?
It lets you design a DMG installer as it will appear in Finder, then build it and optionally run the whole release from a saved plan.
Which macOS version does Rilmazafone need?
macOS 26 or later. The release pipeline also needs Xcode.
Do I need Xcode to design a DMG?
The project lists Xcode as a requirement for the release pipeline, not for the designer.
Can Rilmazafone sign my disk image?
Yes. It can sign the DMG with an identity from your keychain, and a release plan also notarizes and verifies the app and the DMG.
Which disk image formats does it support?
Compression can be LZFSE, zlib (UDZO), bzip2 (UDBZ) or lzma, and the filesystem can be APFS or HFS+.
What is a release plan?
A saved .releaseplan file that archives, signs, notarizes, packages and verifies your app, then publishes a GitHub release and updates a Homebrew cask. Publishing needs the GitHub CLI signed in and a notarization keychain profile.
What is the difference between the GitHub and App Store editions?
The App Store edition contains the designer. The GitHub edition adds the command line and the release pipeline.
Can I install Rilmazafone with Homebrew?
Yes, from the developer’s tap. Run brew install --cask kageroumado/tap/rilmazafone.
Where does the Rilmazafone download on rilmazafone.FULLMAC.app come from?
The download button leads to the official Rilmazafone releases on GitHub at https://github.com/kageroumado/rilmazafone/releases/latest. rilmazafone.FULLMAC.app does not change or repackage the app.

OrbStackOrbStack is a fast, light and simple way to run Docker containers and Linux machines on your Mac. It is a drop-in replacement for Docker Desktop: your docker and docker compose commands keep working, and on first start OrbStack offers to copy over your existing Docker Desktop containers, images and volumes. It starts in seconds, uses less than 0.1% background CPU on Apple Silicon and returns unused memory to macOS. Besides containers it runs full Linux machines from 16 distributions, and a lightweight Kubernetes cluster for local development. OrbStack is made by Orbital Labs.Developer Tools
QuotaBarIf you use OpenAI Codex with a ChatGPT account, the usage limits reset on a 5-hour and a weekly window, and checking how much is left means opening Codex or ChatGPT. QuotaBar puts the remaining percentage in the Mac menu bar and refreshes it every 60 seconds. Click the icon for a detailed panel with every limit window and its reset countdown, or turn on a small floating HUD that stays on top of other windows.Developer Tools
Stargazer BarStargazer Bar is a small native menu bar app for Mac that keeps an eye on GitHub repositories for you. It puts a live star count in the menu bar, so you can see how a project is doing without keeping a browser tab open, and a click opens a dropdown with the details: star and fork trend charts, release download totals and a maintainer radar. Public repositories are measured by their stars. Private repositories, which have no stars, are measured by what needs your attention: a failing build, an unanswered issue or a new pull request.Developer Tools
Notch So GoodNotch So Good turns the notch of your MacBook into a small status display for AI coding agents. While Claude Code or the OpenAI Codex CLI works, a black pill extends the notch: a 3D character called Peek sits on the left, and a ring on the right shows how much of your 5-hour usage window is left. The more a session needs you, the further Peek climbs out. When a task finishes, fails or runs into a usage limit, the notch opens into a card that says what happened and in which project, and a click jumps to the exact terminal tab, tmux pane included.Developer Tools
Claude UsageClaude Usage is a small native app for people who use Claude Code. In the menu bar it shows your current five-hour session, your weekly usage for all models and for Sonnet, and your pay-as-you-go credits, each with a usage bar and its reset time, without opening Claude Code. It also adds a one-line readout under your Claude Code prompt with the model, how full the context window is and the tokens used, so you can compact a session before it runs out of room. Each terminal pane shows its own readout, also across tmux.Developer Tools
TintpadTintpad is a free, open-source launcher for developers who work with command-line coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex. Press Option-Command-Space anywhere and a black drop falls out of your Mac's notch, or hangs below the menu bar on Macs without one, with your repositories inside. Type a few letters, press Return, and your own terminal opens at that repository with the agent already running, in the mode you used there last.Developer Tools

ColuracetamColuracetam is a Markdown reader and editor for Mac that shows the same rendered preview everywhere. Press the spacebar on a .md file in Finder and Quick Look shows it rendered in color, and Finder shows generated thumbnails of your Markdown files. Open a file in the app and you get a live split: plain monospace source on one side and the rendered page on the other, with text selection and search that work across the whole rendered document.Productivity
DantroleneDantrolene is a menu bar app that stops your Mac's screen from locking while you are on your home Wi-Fi. You choose the home network once from the menu bar; in automatic mode the Mac stays unlocked there, and as soon as you join any other network, normal locking returns. The display still dims and goes dark after your usual idle time, and a touch of the mouse or keyboard brings it back without a password. Dantrolene steps aside when Zoom, a presentation or another app keeps the display awake.System Utilities
AdrafinilAdrafinil keeps a Mac awake while an AI coding agent is working, even with the lid closed, and lets it sleep again as soon as the work is done. Hooks tell it when agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Aider, Cline and others start and finish a task. It tracks several agents at once, and your Mac only goes to sleep after the last one ends. You can also hold the Mac awake for a set time, or let it sleep at any moment.System Utilities
PhosphenePhosphene lets you use your own videos as wallpapers on macOS. It adds them to System Settings → Wallpaper through the same system that plays Apple's Aerial wallpapers, so you pick a video there just like a built-in wallpaper, and macOS plays it on the desktop and the lock screen, even after you quit Phosphene. Drag a video into Phosphene's library or onto its menu bar icon, then choose it in System Settings. It plays MP4, MOV, HEVC, H.264, ProRes and other formats your Mac can decode, with gapless looping.Customization
